ALEXANDRIA, Va. – Air Traffic Control Association (ATCA) President and CEO Carey Fagan issued the following statement in strong support of today’s Congressional passage of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Reauthorization Act of 2024:

“Navigating through such a transformational time in the aviation industry requires a long-term authorization of the FAA to provide stability, investment, and planning. Today, Congress completed its critically important work to pass this bipartisan FAA reauthorization bill and we are grateful for the leadership in both the House and the Senate to guide this process to a successful conclusion.

Of particular importance to ATCA and our membership, which represents the air traffic management and airspace integration communities, is the language in the legislation advancing technology and innovation, strengthening aviation safety standards, and addressing workforce needs, including air traffic controller staffing.

ATCA and its members will continue our collaborative efforts with the FAA and our industry partners to improve the National Airspace System.”
