ATCA Supports the Senate Commerce Committee Approval of Michael Whitaker
Today, the U.S. Senate Commerce, Science and Transportation Committee favorably reported Michael Whitaker’s nomination to the position of Administrator of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for Senate floor consideration. On behalf of the Air Traffic Control Association (ATCA), President and CEO Carey Fagan issued the following statement:
“The national airspace system is at a critical juncture, needing a path forward for the future while still maintaining safe and efficient skies for all users. Mr. Whitaker is the right choice for the role with his extensive experience in various aspects of the aviation industry, including the FAA."
ATCA applauds the Committee’s action. We hope the full Senate will consider his nomination expeditiously. If Mr. Whitaker is confirmed, we look forward to his leadership in furthering systems modernization and airspace integration through collaboration across all sectors of the aviation industry.
