ATCA Applauds FAA Announcement of First Two Schools for Enhanced AT-CTI Program
ALEXANDRIA, Va. – ATCA today expressed support for the Federal Aviation Administration’s announcement that it has signed agreements with Tulsa Community College and the University of Oklahoma to become the first two schools for the Enhanced Air Traffic – Collegiate Training Initiative (AT-CTI) program.
“I applaud FAA Administrator Michael Whitaker for moving this important and creative air traffic controller hiring and training idea from concept to reality,” said ATCA President & CEO Carey Fagan. “This is a critical time to build and grow the future ranks of our air traffic controller workforce, ensuring sufficient staffing to continue to operate a safe and efficient National Airspace System (NAS). It’s important to apply both urgency and the full scope of resources to this effort and today’s announcement is welcomed.
“ATCA and our members are actively involved in collaborative efforts to improve the NAS as it continues its modernization and integration journey. We are encouraged that staffing in FAA facilities is now being given high priority to meet the needs of the NAS in this transformational time in the aviation industry.”
