ATC Committee/ Engineering & Development Committee

The ATC/E&D Committee supports ATCA members in the development and dissemination of knowledge of air traffic control systems, procedures, infrastructure and the global airspace environment in all its phases and applications. The ATC/E&D Committee is established to keep ATCA members abreast of scientific and technical developments, to strive for improvement and to contribute to and assess new knowledge in the global aviation system by making known to the aviation community any significant work, improvements or research accomplished. In direct support of this mission, special emphasis will be directed toward NextGen and SESAR concepts, development, and implementation initiatives. (This doesn’t say how they do it.) Need some specific charge for this committee. Do they publish, plan programs?

Public Relations Committee/Aviation Education

The Publicity and Public Relations Committee is responsible for positioning ATCA as the thought leader on all matters pertaining to Air Traffic Control and as a reliable and valued resource regarding air transportation in general. We will achieve this position by tapping into the wealth of knowledge in our leadership and in our membership and making that expertise available to the general public and decision makers in both public and private sectors through dedicated media and public affairs outreach. The committee will also be involved in efforts to develop the future workforce by planning programs aimed at those with an interest in careers in the industry.

Membership Committee

ATCA is an individual membership organization and the goal of this committee is to develop and execute plans to increase and maintain membership levels. With particular attention to attracting new individuals. The committee will also focus on acquiring new corporate members and enhancing the level of ATCA membership and participation of existing corporate and institutional members. The committee will develop potential new long term members by increasing the number of new ATC controllers, those attending Controller Training Institutions and enrolled in aviation programs at universities who are members of ATCA. The Membership Committee will work in close coordination with the President of ATCA, the Membership Director and the ATCA Board of Directors to align with the overall goals for membership.
